I was a thirteen year old imaginative kid running around saying that someday humans will put all information and knowledge into a crystal somehow, bury one and shoot one into space, so that when we are gone future inhabitants or visitors will know what we had been up to before our untimely demise. They will be able to absorb the information like chemicals through the skin and ingest knowledge like light through the eye. Imagine all the beauty of the world in text, photographs, video, music, everything ever created and displayed by humans for humans to enjoy and learn from, condense it all and put it into a format that is natural instead of technological. This way intelligent species will learn from the discovery of a natural database what not to do before they become mechanized, synthesized, and artificial themselves. A natural well of knowledge that needs to be discovered by those with the thirst to find it before the well again becomes contaminated. Let the brutes or aliens discover human beauty through entertainment and art and scholarly affairs or civil rights and sport statistics or subtle nuances that make a life great before the transformation of our species from brutes to aliens is replicated.

This blog is a multifaceted writing/journaling approach to recovery from mental illness and addiction. I am not a comedian but rather a rattled jewel of sarcasm encased in art. Health, humor, and love is what I seek under the umbrella of family. View all posts by Francis Erich McElroy
