My #poetry over time has changed by using words I’ve heard before ever knowing their meaning, and binding those words together to sound similar to each other, telling rhythmically the meaning of what I believe worth finding a cadence and with words I’ve never heard before in that sequence, how to give those words meaning.
#Recovery is taking fear and anger to the emergency room, leaving them at the ICU to discover each other before fear gets away from comfort and anger gets a hold of empathy when they reemerge for another year of suffering. If fear gets close enough to know anger than anger has no choice but to know fear, they will start to spend close time together instead of drift apart longing for comfort and empathy themselves.
#Sobriety for me means being sober around others who drink and use drugs at a responsible level with live music in the air and getting home safely to my family.
#Truth means you are not surprised by a statement so much so that you will live by it. Though you can be puzzled by the topic of the statement, when you respond with what you know from your own experience, truth is easier to come by. The simpler the statement, the more sense that it makes, the more you don’t question the flow and content, more can be told but at the cost of being true to more people which in turn can be overlooked for being repetitious. Truth for the reader is a final answer so they can move on while truth for the writer is to provide new questions so they can be original and move forward.
