Engineering Our Modern Headspace

Engineering is a broad term for finding the way to take materials from the ground and forming them into objects that house us, clothe us and that move earth around to get us food and water. The essentials for survival are designed by engineers who use math, science and technology to make our lives more comfortable and efficient.

Engineers improve upon gadgets with  techniques that make it easier, better, and faster to help the progression of humans to navigate the seas; see in the dark; move around land; watch moving pictures; soar the sky; go to the moon; surf the web. All these activities are powered by oil, chemicals, and electricity that requires machines to extract and convert those raw minerals into useful energy that is used to power tools that extract and convert raw material into useful materials. All of this is engineered. Physical dominance and mental ingenuity is what shapes our modern landscape.

Engineering is a broad and complex discipline that can be simplified to do good for our modern headspace.

What if there was such a thing as passive engineering? A type of engineering that was not meant to dominate but to make our existence sustainable instead of only making things, at first, that exist to improve the lives of a few humans at the expense of everything else when it does catch on globally. Something built to last like a society that does the right thing in a new way by using math, science, and technology to do more than just build things. A new discipline. To build an ethos – ease the suffering of people around the globe by being logical, practical, and savvy while advancing humankind with (insert word here that the meaning does not yet exist). A principle we do not correctly have in place yet.
