Let’s focus on the word “vehemently” for a minute. I do not use that word in a sentence because it doesn’t accurately depict the feeling I get when saying or doing something emphasizing force and strength. “Vehemently” flutters from my lips slightly violent and brutally soft, an exhale of expletives thrown at a wall of ice, expected to stick when the word is just hot water carving a new river into ice like a new word carves blank stares into conversation, being one-sided, headed in one direction to pool at the feet of writers who use words like that to emphasize the typhoon of thought that exits our mouths as breath that can barely blow out a candle. I strongly oppose this word because it is a weak attempt at blowing ash from our heads when ash is what’s left of words that propose a threat to peace for another year. Where there is ash there is no more energy. Where there is no more energy there is the word “vehemently.”
