People push us to build our ego as we push ourselves to build cities and to dominate nature with construction or deconstruction. When a person tries to dominate nature with construction they take from it, add material or take it away, then make it whole again in another form. That is the essence of ego, to see the world as it is versus what it ought to be. With ego, all objects have the ability to break down and reassemble into more solid versions. Ego is getting back to the built world we maneuver through with confidence after seeing the natural world for what it is, realizing our place in it, then changing the natural world into how you think the built world ought to be. Ego is the restoration of a broken built world with help from nature. How you rebuild that world is how you treat the natural world that operates as it always has with people in it. To know how the world works will build your ego but the way to show the world how your ego works is by restoring any damaged parts.
