What’s In A Name

My name is Erich. I am the same Erich your hero asks, “are you still driving that same piece of shit, Erich?” That is me. The reason I can say is because your hero is my hero and saying “that” piece of shit puts me in the same vicinity as our hero. I often wonder to myself why is it that I have such an important name. Do all Erich’s wonder if they are the same Erich that everybody is addressing in their presence? Is there one Erich that is the ruler whereby all others measure themselves? Do all Erich’s hope they are the Erich in question or do they know that I am not in their presence so they pretend to be me. These are questions I could ask another Erich but any time you get more than one in a room they start spelling their name like there is more than one Erich. I guess how I should go about finding out if I’m the Erich I always thought I was is by just being me, Erich, the one who spells it with an H and precedes it with Francis followed by McElroy.
