Do you see yourself as a leader?
I am no Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. I’ve never read his work but I am positive he wrote in the style of his own time – all writers do. There is not a specific quote to describe his personal style in any language but his own. Just his name is sufficient. Longfellow is Longfellow. I could learn Longfellow’s style if I read him enough and I can read other poets of that time period but I can’t be Longfellow or anybody else. The only thing I’ve seen from Longfellow is his name. I like to look at objects and events right in front of me or process what I hear and develop content from what I have written to go along with my memory and knowledge while describing them in my own style to place in front of the reader for interpretation. Same as Longfellow I suppose but today. Framing a lifetime into a picture and naming it Longfellow was good for him and it is good for me too. If I can convince myself to read beyond the name I may find that we have about as much in common as do our names and with the time we have spent together here on Earth.
