There is a thought brewing in the back of my mind that is difficult. The thought swells and moves between my ears where it begins to show a struggle on my face. I could change the thought but I can’t change my face from a question quick enough into a smile. So there the thought lingers with no escape, compounded by the ease in which I am able to see it. The thought could be committed to memory but is already memorized if I saw it first. Either way it is immortalized and indefinable, trapped behind my eyes to never reach my lips for a better expression.

This blog is a multifaceted writing/journaling approach to recovery from mental illness and addiction. I am not a comedian but rather a rattled jewel of sarcasm encased in art. Health, humor, and love is what I seek under the umbrella of family. View all posts by Francis Erich McElroy
