I woke up one day to find the sun sinks into everywhere I cannot be until it rises again as I am deep in sleep and I actually open my eyes. I catch up to the sun every day as it leaves another day behind for me to put into fast-forwarded images the most obvious lessons that I need to rewind and remember tomorrow. When I remember, I know that I can’t get back to that moment and change it but I can get to places I had been before when I closed my eyes. My memories do not change, only the day, and the night keeps me exactly where I’m supposed to be until one day when I do not open my eyes and instead bare my soul.

This blog is a multifaceted writing/journaling approach to recovery from mental illness and addiction. I am not a comedian but rather a rattled jewel of sarcasm encased in art. Health, humor, and love is what I seek under the umbrella of family. View all posts by Francis Erich McElroy
