Time Is A Luxury I Can’t Afford

What’s the one luxury you can’t live without?

They say I’m supposed to hit the lottery. They think I’d be dead within a year. There is no guarantee I won’t leave this world but it won’t be in arrears. I could take the winnings and get a big old house where I’d do all the same old things except ask why losing stings. There is no room for drastic change by starting a new household and filling it with what I couldn’t use before my soul was sold. A man has got to find himself okay in second place when the people he loves stand by him as he takes up all the space. If indeed I won the lottery there is no guarantee I’d live in a world of hypocrisy that is filled with love and greed. Instead I’ll be content with all I’ve ever known when love is love and greed is gone from deep within my bones. One last thing to end this poem about winning the lottery, take all the time you have to spend and give it all to me.
