I want to crumble but it would be insane. One big piece into smaller and smaller pieces, into a heaping pile of peace and then I’d be done. Until I am broken I can’t be whole, the forgiven one. I can drop to my knees, reach to the sky but I can’t do both and crumble inside. I will have to stand tall and still dig in the dirt in order to still be sane on Earth. But there is something greater than being whole when you know you are getting smaller for writing a poem.
