I sit in the glow of people who live their lives unimaginable, but with experience instead. They are sharing that experience with me—a similar experience I have lived unmanaged for years, but can’t imagine sharing. I listen in deep meditation until a thought, imagined, comes into focus before me: words I could use. Then, a solution is revealed by someone who manages that experience in a familiar but different way for me to ponder further before I can share in confidence. But I came in here on a prayer, so I opened my eyes to confront the spirit of the room, and I realized that I can manage to speak from the heart, as unimaginable as my experience may be.

This blog is a multifaceted writing/journaling approach to recovery from mental illness and addiction. I am not a comedian but rather a rattled jewel of sarcasm encased in art. Health, humor, and love is what I seek under the umbrella of family. View all posts by Francis Erich McElroy
